Alfa Romeo Returning to America!
Alfa Romeo isn’t exactly a household name in the United States. In fact, with the exception of the limited production 8C, they haven’t had a car on the market in North America since 1996. But that is about to change with the 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C, introduced earlier this year at the New York Auto Show.
This small, lightweight, rear wheel drive sports car features a carbon fiber/composite body with aluminum subframes front and rear. The mid-mounted, 1.75L all-aluminum, inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine boasts 240 horsepower, taking you from standstill to 60MPH in 4.5 seconds and provides 250 lb-ft of torque. The powertrain includes a 6-speed, twin-clutch, semi-automatic transmission. As one reviewer summed up the package, “it’s beautiful, it’s balanced, it’s light and it’s quick.”
This very sexy little Italian number was designed by Lorenzo Ramaciotti at the Alfa Romeo Style Centre and manufactured at the Maserati plant in Modena. To commemorate the marque’s return, 500 specially equipped limited Launch Editions are being produced, with an anticipated 1,000 C4 Coupes available the first year. For under $70,000, the 2015 Alfa Romeo C4 is a real bargain and will be appearing soon at 86 newly appointed Alfa Romeo dealerships in the US.
