Lamborghini and Porsche both released their third-quarter sales. The Macan, Cayenne and Taycan dominated at Porsche. Meanwhile, Lamborghini sold over 738 vehicles worldwide, it’s best September to date.
The Aston Martin DBX, the marque’s first SUV, has arrived. It has been billed as “an SUV with the soul of a sports car” by the brand. The car starts at $189,900 and is ready to compete with other luxury brand SUVs.
The Lamborghini Urus’ arrival to dealerships is still eight months away, but customer orders have already been brisker than anticipated. There are already 60 orders against an allotment of 100 vehicles.
With the introduction the Urus, Lamborghini joins fellow Italian marques Maserati and Alfa Romeo in offering a high-performance SUV. No surprise there; Lamborghini showed the Urus concept more than five years ago. Bentley entered the fray last year, and Ferrari and Rolls-Royce will be next with utility vehicles.
