A 356 B Roadster known as the “Twin Grille,” will be offered at the RM Sotheby’s Amelia Island Concours auction this weekend. It’s one of only 58 equipped with the highly desirable 1.6-liter Super 90 engine.
RM Sotheby’s is offering the opportunity to acquire a 1965 911 at its Amelia Island Concours sale. The car, in Aga Blue over beige, shows under 80,000 miles and has a pre-sale estimate of $210k-$250k.
At its 2019 Amelia Island Concours sale, Gooding & Company will offer one of the 15 Porsche 924 Carrera GTS Clubsport models built, with a pre-sale estimate of $250k-$300k. This particular 924 was originally a Porsche press vehicle.
Porsche made just 345 of its 1995-1997 Turbo S models, and if you were not one of the 176 American customers to get one, Gooding & Company is offering a stunning ’97 with 11,400 miles at its Amelia Island sale. The pre-sale estimate is $425k-$475k.
Porsche will be entering the EV market with the same zeal that drives the company to keep pushing its 911, Cayman and Boxster sports cars to new performance levels. And even before the first Taycans reach customers later this year, Porsche confirmed plans to double production to 40,000 cars per year.
The Gooding & Company Scottsdale auction in January will offer a 1973 911 T Targa, one of 1,300 made for the U.S., with 21,000 documented original miles. Offered with no reserve, the car has a pre-sale estimate of $130k-$160k.
Porsche introduced the redesigned 911 for 2020, known internally and by the cognoscenti as the 992, at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month. The design looks instantly familiar but differs in details.
The RS America was one for the purists, and just 701 were made. The upshot today: Hagerty shows an average value of $204,000 for an “excellent” condition RS America, or about four times the average value for an “excellent” condition Carrera 2 of the same vintage.
Porsche is teasing again. First shown as a concept in June, the 911 Speedster is now scheduled for production, and if you’re not already on the list to get one of the 1,948 being built for global consumption, well, there’s always the next-generation 911 coming down the pike.
