Sometimes, a barn find yields rare gems, like this 1956 Maserati A6G/54 GranSport coupe, which is expected to bring $2.5-$3.25 million at the Gooding & Company Pebble Beach Auction in mid-August. The car is one of 60 built in the A6G/54 series, and one of four built in this coupe style by Carrozzeria Frua.
Getting a 918 Spyder when new was difficult, as just 918 of these hypercars were made. It cost $845,000 before options. Getting one today is not much easier. The RM Sotheby’s Amelia Island auction in late May sold this 2015 model for $1.182m, right around the middle of its of $1m-$1.25m pre-sale estimate.
This summer, RM Sotheby’s, Bonham’s, and Gooding & Company hosted online auctions in place of their usually scheduled Monterey events. Topping the list of cars sold at these auctions are a 2001 Ferrari V12 berlinetta that sold for $4.29 million at RM and a 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB “long nose,” which sold for $3.08m at Gooding & Co.
