La Jolla is Spanish for “The Jewel,” an apt name for some of the most breathtaking beaches in California and a similarly stand out Concours d’Elegance. A world-class event, this concours offers over 300 pristine and historically valuable vehicles judged by a panel of experts, many of whom have judged at Pebble Beach in the past.
The Diablo’s design was more elegant than the Countach, which had become festooned with all manner of body add-ons, including a rear wing that looked like a Boeing 727’s horizontal stabilizer. Like the Countach before it, the Diablo also grew a young fan base and became a poster car in many boys’ bedrooms.
