Mecum Auction House is selling a twofer 1969 Chevrolet Corvette L88 at its Glendale, AZ auction this Saturday, March 14. Pre-estimates for 1967 L88s, can command well over $1m, the rarest Corvette, with just 20 made. The more “common” 1968-1969 models draw less impressive sums, but remain a powerful draw for collectors.
Taking place this year on March 8th, the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance draws nearly 250 show vehicles and legions of classic car fans every year. This year’s event will honor Roger Penske, and the featured marque is Lozier. Best of all, since its inception, this event has generated over $3.5 million in support of local and national charities.
This year at Amelia Island, Bonhams will lift the gavel on nearly 120 collector cars spanning automotive history from the dawn of motoring to the mid-2010s, including vehicles from several noted collections. Industry experts selected their favorite cars of the group, including a Porsche, Aston Martin, Jaguar, and even a prewar Bugatti.
