The Lamborghini Jalpa revamped the basic Urraco platform, keeping the Silhouette’s two-seat, targa-roof layout. Originally priced at $60,000 in 1980, one sold at RM Sotheby’s Palm Beach online auction for $99,000. With just 410 made and 100 sent to the U.S., it’s not something you normally see at a Cars and Coffee.

The Ferrari Testarossa burst onto the scene for 1985, starring in Miami Vice alongside Don Johnson. It competed against Magnum P.I. starring Tom Selleck, his famous mustache and Ferrari 308 GTS. The Testarossa is an iconic 1980s wild child that belongs in every Ferrari collection.

A Porsche enthusiast picked up a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera that has been beautifully preserved at the RM Sotheby’s Amelia Island auction. It only has 41,000-miles, is painted in Guards Red and sold for $137,200. This version of the 911 Carrera was a critical link in the 911’s evolution that contributed to the model’s ongoing success.

Mecum Auction House is selling a twofer 1969 Chevrolet Corvette L88 at its Glendale, AZ auction this Saturday, March 14. Pre-estimates for 1967 L88s, can command well over $1m, the rarest Corvette, with just 20 made. The more “common” 1968-1969 models draw less impressive sums, but remain a powerful draw for collectors.

At the Amelia Island Concours auctions this month, Bonhams has a 1971 model Mercedes-Benz 280SL up for grabs, with an older restoration and a pre-sale estimate of $90k-$110k.

A 2004 Ferrari 360 Spider with just one-owner will be up for auction by RM Sotheby’s at its Amelia Island Concours auction in March. It features a F1 transmission and with just 392 miles. The $125k-$175k pre-sale estimate is about what its base price was when new.

In a few weeks at the Amelia Island Concours d’ Elegance, Gooding & Company’s auction will offer a 75,000-mile 1994 BMW 850CSi in the stunning shade Hellrot (German for light red). Pre-sale estimates put this car between $90,000-$110,000, approximately the same price as when the car was new.

Built in Italy and powered by German Mercedes-AMG engines, Paganis have set high benchmarks for bespoke engineering and innovative materials. At RM Sotheby’s Arizona sale last month, a 2018 Huayra Roadster, one of 100 made, sold for just under $2.4M, which was the starting price when new.

A 1969 ZL1 Camaro sold at the Scottsdale Auctions for a whopping $1.094 million on the Barrett-Jackson stage. The ZL1 was an all-out performance package that also included heavy-duty suspension and drivetrain components.
