Cars and Boats and Bikes, Oh My!
This weekend’s 12th annual St. Petersburg car show is one of the four Festivals of Speed that Florida plays host to every year. Hundreds of exotics and homegrown performance machines garner the attention of over 15,000 attendees, making any FOS display worth a trip. This weekend’s, in particular, is a standout – located on the 11.6 acres of the pristine Vinoy Park, stitched into the fabric of downtown St. Petersburg. The display promises a tour through the fastest vehicles from every era, from vintage racers to the latest track-bred road car. It’s a rare opportunity to see 1000-horsepower, flame-belching hypercars alongside their concours ready ancestors. For just $65 more than the meagre entrance fee, the doors of the Supercar Lounge are opened to you; a VIP car show experience, with a prime view of the lawn and a top-shelf open bar.
Tonight, if you can trust any itinerary on April Fool’s Day, VIPs and car collectors will gather at the Luxury Lifestyle Cocktail Reception for a taste of the finer things and a live-and-silent auction to benefit the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Not to worry if you can’t make it, next weekend boasts Festivals of Speed’s last show of the season, right outside Orlando at the Mission Hill Resort.
