Immediately following the buoyant classic car events and auctions held at Amelia Island, Florida in March, the many challenges posed by local and world events forced most classic-car auction companies to virtually reinvent themselves for continued success. The vast majority of live auction events are now either postponed or cancelled entirely for 2020, including the highly anticipated Monterey Car Week auctions, shows, events, tours, and – for the first time since inception in 1950 – the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. As a result, multiple auction houses have moved their auctions online for the summer. Over the coming months, auction houses are hosting both online and live auctions. This includes Mecum, RM Sotheby’s, Gooding & Company, and Bonhams. The schedule is outlined below.
