Scottsdale’s Collector Car Auction Season
2020 was a uniquely interesting year for serious car enthusiasts. As 2021 begins, some degree of normalcy will be restored with kick-off of the annual auctions in Scottsdale, Arizona. With the pandemic beast still at large, however, accommodations have been made. Notably, this year the Scottsdale Auctions will not be a single event. Instead, the program is scheduled to occur on multiple dates during the first quarter of the year, in Scottsdale as well as locations in California and Indiana.
Here’s a snapshot of how the Scottsdale Auctions will occur this year:
RM Sotheby’s and Bonhams will both conduct in-person auctions held in Arizona and they will also be accessible online; offering socially distanced bidding from the comfort of your home. Gooding & Company will be held solely online, utilizing its Geared Online platform that was released in 2020. Additionally, Worldwide Auctioneers will not conduct its auction in Arizona this year, and has relocated the event to its HQ in Auburn, Indiana.
Lastly, Barrett-Jackson and Russo & Steele have rescheduled their Scottsdale auctions to be held in March, and Motorsport Auction Group (MAG) has postponed its auction to an unspecified future date. Details of the schedule for previews and auctions in January and March are shown below.
