The pinnacle of Monterey Automotive Week is Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance offering car enthusiasts and connoisseurs of culture a beautiful and classic close to the week’s frenetic pace. From postwar Ferraris to historic Bentleys, the Concours assembles a stylish mix of historic automobiles alongside new vehicle presentations from private collectors, restoration houses, car manufacturers, art exhibitions, auctions, and charity raffles all competing to be named “the best of the best.”

Judging the Marques
The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is considered the most prestigious concours event in the world and is the finale of Monterey Car Week held in August every year. Entrants with vehicles ranging from contemporary Lamborghinis and Ferraris to vintage Porsche and Aston Martins will display alongside antique and pre-war marques. They are judged for authenticity, function, history, and style. Classes are commonly arranged by type, marque (manufacturer), coachbuilder, country of origin, or time period.
Carefully chosen expert judges select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers for each class in the event, and the judges confer the “Best of Show” award for a single vehicle from the group of first-place winners. In addition, a group of honorary judges—those who have made significant contributions to the automotive industry or motorsports—award several subjective awards to recognize exemplary vehicles, as well as memorial awards created to honor specific individuals in the industry.

Supporting the Youth of Monterey and Surrounding Areas
Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is also a charitable event benefiting the Pebble Beach Company Foundation. Founded in 1975, the Foundation has continuously invested where it can make the most significant impact—in the youth of Monterey County. Over the years the Concours has raised in excess of $19 Million to support and enhance educational programs that span the arts, sciences, sports and technology. In 2014, the Foundation supported more than 85 local nonprofit youth programs and provided $100,000 in college scholarships.
